EDNA L. BOWERS, 83, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at home. She was born May 9, 1936 in Calhoun County, a daughter of John and Leatha Mace. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Paul Richards; a granddaughter and her husband, Angela and Phillip Dever; a great-grandson, Dakota Dever; and her nephews and special caregivers, Danny and Geraldine Mace, Kenneth Nicholson, and Mike Mace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donzel Gene Bowers; a son, Gary Gene Bowers; sisters, Mildred Nicholson, Ruth Heeter, and Maude Smith; and brothers, Junior (Tub) Mace and Darrel Mace. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Slate/Bowers Cemetery near Spencer with Pastor Larry Greathouse officiating. There will be no visitation or viewing at the funeral home. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.
