David Orval Nicholas, 73 of Spencer, WV passed away at home Saturday July 9, 2022.
He was born on August 16, 1948, a son to Orval and Nellie Dobbins Nicholas. He was raised in Windham, Ohio where he met and married his late wife Charlotte Payne on October 17, 1970. He relocated his family to Weston, WV and worked to help build I-79 then retiring after many years of service at William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Cooke.
He is survived by two daughters Cari (Richard) Ward of Spencer, WV and Amanda (Jim) Henry of Berkeley Springs, WV. He is also survived by three sisters Eileen Norman, Janice Haines, and Paulette Chenoweth and a brother Darrell Nicholas. Four grandchildren, William and Trevor Ward and Truly and Lulu Henry and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service will be held Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Taylor-Vandale funeral Home in Spencer, WV with Pastor Michael Ludle officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Waldeck United Methodist Church Cemetery near Weston, WV.
