David Royce
Kyle
Sep 24, 1941 — Dec 18, 2022
DAVID ROYCE KYLE, 81, was called home to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2022. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife and Bible by his side after an extended illness.
David was born in Hernshaw, West Virginia on September 24, 1941 to the late John and Verna Kyle. He was a Navy veteran. He liked to stay busy, owning and operating businesses throughout his life, and traveling and living in multiple places including France where he lived for many years. Although he worked for Eastern Steel for many years, he retired from Al Marino. Never actually "retiring", he continued to own and run his business, Res-Com Electric, as a master electrician until his passing.
David was a devoted Christian and member of the Harmony Baptist Church where he was a trustee and deacon, song leader, and a former Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed singing with his brother and sisters in earlier years but more recently in "The Harmony Four" with his wife, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Joyce Ellis.
David was an avid fisherman who could sit for hours without a bite, just enjoying the peace and tranquility of nature, but he liked it much better if they were biting.
Above all else, David enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandkids who will miss him dearly. No matter how busy, there was always time for a hug, a story, or an "I love you" when Pop Pop was around.
David is survived by his wife of 19 years and best friend, Pamela Kyle; his children, Philip Kyle of France, Natalie Kyle of Deepwater, David "Dink" Shouldis of Harmony, and Sara (Michael) Anderson of Harmony. His siblings, Susan (Rodney) Green of Clendenin, Jewell (Mike) Epperly of Charleston, Norma (Bruis) Doss of Charleston, and Kevin (Sheila) Kyle of Belle. Also his grandchildren, Pandora, Isabelle, Golden, Willow, Caesar, Lucas, Dawson, Triton, Jozie, Talon, and Timber. He is also survived by his honorary daughter, Christy Shouldis and "right hand man" Justin Ferrell, along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vincent Tyree.
Service will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Pastor Daniel McClung officiating. Burial will follow in the Harper-Hunt Cemetery near Harmony. Visiting is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
