DARRELL DeWAYNE "DE" ANDERSON, 89, of Spencer, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021.
He was born March 23, 1932 in Roane County, a son of the late Delbert C. and Hazel Rowe Anderson. He formerly worked at Casto & Harris, was owner of Anderson Pennzoil, was a member of the Odd Fellows, was a member and past deacon of the First Baptist Church in Spencer and was an avid car enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Delbert C. Anderson, Jr.; a sister, Rita Anderson; and a great-granddaughter, Khloe Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Betty Jean Hunt Anderson; daughters, Rhonda Siers and her husband, Gary, of Lenoir, North Carolina and Sheila Driskell of Spencer; grandchildren, Chad Smith and his wife, Rochelle, Smith of Owasso, Oklahoma, Danielle Siers of Hickory, North Carolina, Amy Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Stacie Siers Langley and her husband, Jeremy, also of Hickory; and his great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Ella, Jade, and Marlee.
Service will be at 12:00pm on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Mark Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Walton, West Virginia. Visiting will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
