CHARLOTTE ALLEN, 86, of Leroy, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer, West Virginia. She was born September 23, 1933 in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Trader and Thelma Ferrell Tallman. She was a homemaker, enjoyed working on the farm and tending to her animals, and was a member of the Reedy Baptist Church, Reedy, West Virginia. She is survived by her sons, Benjamin C. Allen of Maine and Holly W. and Sherri Allen of Charleston, West Virginia; a daughter, Andrea and Rodney Garnes of Parkersburg, West Virginia; a step-daughter, Phyllis Carter of Spencer; two sisters, Connie Heintzman of Sissonville, West Virginia and Tamara Pritt of Kenova, West Virginia; a son-in-law, Dan Douglas, Jr.; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Allen in 2011; a daughter, Jeannie Douglas; two brothers, Bill and Danny Tallman; and two sisters, Carol Kimble and Sharon Frame. There will be a graveside service at 10 am on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Board Cemetery in Reedy with Pastor Bill Stewart officiating. Visiting will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer.
