Charles Oris Stewart, 81, of Spencer, WV, passed away at Roane General Hospital on September 20,2026 after a short illness.

He was born June 7, 1945, the son of late Thomas Stewart and Diannah Hicks Stewart of Spencer, WV.

Also preceding him in death were his sister, Kathryn Stewart Lyons, brother, Roger Stewart and nephew, Matthew Stewart.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlene McCumbers Stewart. His brother Nolan Stewart of Palestine, WV. His niece Tracy Stewart Nelson (Shannon) of Palestine, WV. Great nephew Colton Stewart (Alyssa) and great niece Olivia Stewart both of Cairo, WV. Great, great niece Maylynn Stewart of Cairo, WV.

He retired from Kellwood Company of Spencer after 30+ years. He was a lifelong farmer.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 25, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m, with Matthew Husted officiating. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Adoration Hospice; Roane County Animal Shelter or the Nelson Animal Retreat.
