Charles "Chuck" Edward Postalwait, 83, of Reedy, WV passed away February 28, 2023 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio.

Charles was born December 31, 1939 in Cremo, WV and was the son of the late Ray Postalwait and Mabel Mollohan Postalwait Courtney Justice.

Charles was a graduate of McCutchenville High School in Ohio. He was a United States Marine Corp. veteran from 1958 to 1968 serving in the Vietnam War; where he flew on helicopters as a door gunner. Charles worked on offshore oil rigs and was a welder and mechanic. He enjoyed going to auctions and spending time with his friends and family.

Left behind to cherish his memory, are his siblings Ron Postalwait (Martha) of Ripley, WV and Karen Courtney of Reedy; two aunts, Bonnie Worstell of Marietta, OH and Effie Cooper of Parkersburg, WV; uncle, Ervin Courtney of Charleston, WV; four brothers-in-law, Robert, Leo, Gerald and Victor Hackett all of Canada; two sisters-in-law, Zita Dumphy and Rite Evans both of Canada; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances "Nanny" Hackett Postalwait; two step-fathers, Herman Courtney and Linzy Justice; brother, Tom Courtney; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Evelyn (Nelson) Parsons and; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elizabeth McDaniel (Melvin "Cuz" Cousins).

A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. ~ Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, WV with Ron Postalwait officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday. A luncheon for family and friends will follow the service at the Reedy Senior Citizens Center. Charles will be buried alongside his wife Mary at Epling Cemetery in Roane County, WV.
