Carroll Dean Harper, 83, of Spencer, WV passed away September 13, 2024 at Roane General Hospital after an extended illness.

Carroll was born January 31, 1941 in Roane County, WV and was the son of the late Estil and Tessie Hunt Harper.

Carroll worked 42 years for Pepsi, it being the only job he ever had starting at 17 years old.  He attended Rush Creek Church. Carroll enjoyed deer hunting, camping, and spending time with his dog and best friend "Scottie."

Left behind to cherish his memory is his sister, Jewel Ashley of Wadsworth, OH; sister-in-law, Barbara Nichols (Gary) of Spencer; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth Anna Miller Harper; three brothers, Gene (Dorothy), Cecil (Mary) and Tommy (Dian) Harper; and brother-in-law, Blaine Ashley.

Services will be 11:00 AM ~ Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Danny Whited officiating with burial to follow at Swank Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
