Bobby Gay Kelly, 90, of Spencer, WV, passed away at home on September 15, 2026.

He was born November 30, 1935, on Kelly Ridge, Roane County, WV. He was the son of the late John Smith Kelly and Gusta (Naylor) Kelly.Bobby was a mechanic for many years after serving in the US Navy, stationed in Japan. He was a wonderful artist and advertising salesman, and he helped build the Belleville Dam. He also coal mined, and he was a member of the Church of Living God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Holbert) Kelly; three brothers, Billy Kelly, John Kelly Jr., and Steve Kelly.

He is survived by one brother, Joseph (Tracy) Kelly of Kelly Ridge, WV; two daughters, Vietta (Eddie) Lowe of Spencer, WV; Rita (Adam) Holcomb of Spencer, WV; two sons, Richard L. (Patricia) Kelly of Ripley, WV; Daniel W. (Sasha) Kelly of Luray, Virginia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Mary Young a dear friend he spent his happy days with.

Service will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, WV, with Pastor Mike Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at the Kelly Ridge Cemetery, Looneyville, WV. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
