BETTY JANE HICKMAN WATSON, 75, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer.
She was born August 17, 1946 in Mason County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late William T. and Ollie Mae Chapman Hickman. She worked in the knitting department at Kellwood until their closing and more recently worked at the Salvation Army Thrift Store and Closet Thrift Store. She was a graduate of Spencer High School, a poll worker during the elections, and most importantly a very special and wonderful aunt.
Betty is survived by two sisters, Ann Sacchi of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Mary Gandee of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; two brothers, Robert Hickman of Spencer and Ronald Hickman of Point Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry E. Watson; sister, Patricia D. Hickman; brothers, Roger and Bernard Hickman; and nieces, Leah Hickman and Michelle Gates.
A service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Russell Stump officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery near Reedy, West Virginia. Visiting will be two hours prior to the service.
