Betty Jean Nichols, 85, of Spencer, WV passed away March 30, 2022 at her residence.

She was born July 14, 1936 in Clio, WV and was the daughter of the late Roy Ray and M. Vernace Ashworth Nichols.

Betty was a homemaker and an artist. She enjoyed painting, gardening and all flowers.

Left behind to cherish her memory, is her special companion, Lee Ramsey of Spencer; daughter, Christy Lynn Hayes (Lionel Baker) of Given, WV; two sons, Dallas E. Smith, Jr. (Ruth "Sissy") of Spencer and Lowell "Tony" Nichols of Clover, WV; four sisters, Diana Walton (Bill) Walton of Spencer, Sandy Walker (Delmas), Sally Anderson (David)  both of Walton, WV and Sheila Voelker (Bob) of Baltimore, MD; three brothers, Leon Slack of Lillian, AL, Teddy Nichols (Connie) of Elizabeth, WV and Tim Nichols of Walton; two sisters-in-law, Stella Nichols of Spencer, WV and Jan Nichols, of Salina, OK; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her biological mother, Viva Jane Jett; husband, Lowell Thomas Nichols; two brothers, Tony and Terry Nichols; and two sisters-in-law, Carol Slack and Martha Nichols.

A graveside service will be 2:00 P.M.~ Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Clover Ridge Cemetery in Roane County, WV with Pastor Randy Whited officiating.
