Basil Runnion, 94, of Spencer, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Miletree Health Center.

He was born June 9, 1927, the son of the late Sylvester Herbert and Mazil McDonald Runnion.

He was a self-employed plumber for over 40 years and married his late wife, Emma Grace Schreckengost Runnion on October 26, 1946. Basil was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps., and a former member of Gandee Chapel Church. He learned to love motorcycle riding at the age of 65 and going camping.

He is survived by one son, Robert B. "Bob" Runnion (Kay); one daughter, Ruth A. Runnion Looney (John); one grandson, Stephen C. Looney; one granddaughter, Bridget Westfall; two great- grandchildren, Carli and Cory Berkhouse all of Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Emma Grace Runnion; and one brother, Orville Runnion in 1930.

Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M.~ Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Ward Cemetery on Spring Creek. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service Tuesday at the cemetery.
