Barbara Ellen Price, 91, passed away on October 19, 2026, at Roane General Hospital, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and devotion to her family and her faith.

Born on July 19, 1935, Barbara was the daughter of the late John and Bonnie Schreckengost. She was a graduate of Spencer High School and, throughout her working years, was employed by G.C. Murphy Company, H&P Outlet, Kellwood Company Sweater Factory, and Spring Heights Camp and Retreat Center.

Barbara shared 69 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Keith Price. She is also survived by her devoted son, Greg Price; sister, Carol Price; and a special cousin, Tressie McCune.

Barbara found her greatest happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed quilting and canning fresh vegetables each summer from her son’s garden. She was an excellent cook, and her Sunday dinners were a treasured family tradition. She loved sitting on her front porch, admiring her beautiful flowers while enjoying the peacefulness of home, and taking leisurely car rides through the countryside.

Her faith was an important part of her life. She attended the Church of the Living God, where she treasured the fellowship and friendships she shared. Her kindness, warmth, and devotion to family and faith will be lovingly remembered.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Fred McCune and Chad Ward for their many acts of kindness and unwavering support. Sincere gratitude is also extended to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Roane General Hospital for their compassionate care during Barbara’s final days.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Ward Cemetery in Spencer, WV.
