ALCIE FITZWATER BRADY, 87, of Palestine, West Virginia formerly of Duck, West Virginia, daughter of the late Jack and Emma Rose Fitzwater of Ivydale, West Virginia passed away March 18, 2017 at the Ohio Valley Healthcare from an extended illness. She was born March 27, 1929 in Rock Camp, Clay County, West Virginia. She graduated from Clay County High School and retired from the Clay County Board of Education. She was a member of The New Testament Baptist Church of Frozen Run, Calhoun County, West Virginia. She is survived by one son, Randy (Karen) Brady of Mineral Wells, West Virginia; two daughters, Rotha (Leonard) Hardway of Palestine, and Shirley (Terry) Sheppard of Newark, West Virginia; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alcie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John J. Brady, Jr., two brothers, Odie Fitzwater of Ivydale, and Ovie Fitzwater of Lodi, Ohio, and two sisters, Flossie Sattler of Clay, West Virginia and Artie Beard of Lodi. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia with Elder Phil Creecy officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Starcher Cemetery in Big Otter, West Virginia.
